Picture of the Day: It's a Good Day

Tonight's sunset with the sun's rays peeking through the clouds

Late last night I got the news on Twitter that Joe Biden will be come the 46th President of the United States.

It was the good news we have been hoping for after four disastrous years of division, anger, violence and disinformation.

Now America has a new president who wants to unite the states and move forward together with his Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris, the first woman and Asian to be in such a high position in government. It's so exciting, fresh and new.

This morning Hong Kong time the news was celebrated in a Zoom video call with relatives in California who are so thrilled by Biden's victory. They wondered when they could wear red again, which was an interesting question to ponder.

And then at lunchtime we had a celebratory meal of Peking duck and hairy crab xiaolongbao to send off a friend who is leaving Hong Kong for good to move back to the US next week.

I walked the hearty meal off later in the afternoon, and watched the sky change colours as the sun went down.

What a day. A glorious day.
